Use the web activity feature

Confused by a big blank spot in your activity view? This is where our web activity detail comes to save the day! On the left-hand side of your Activity view, where the hours of the day are, you’ll see a graph that shows the intensity of your web browsing.

The web activity detail shows you every web site you accessed during the day. This data is totally private, just for you! Your browsing history can help you fill in the gaps in your memory (and in Clockk).

As you mouse over these browsing groups, a pop-up showing you the web sites you accessed during that time period will appear.

Two red lines will show the beginning and end times of the browsing group.

Underneath, you’ll see a list of the websites you visited.

Beside some of them, you’ll see a number like 23:57 or 1:11. This count shows how many minutes:seconds you spent on a particular page. For instance, when you’re filling in a form, completing a survey, or updating a page in a CMS (Content Management System).

With the web activity detail, you can assign a web site to a project, but be careful! It works for the whole web site, so don’t assign a website you use for multiple projects. A great example of a web site to assign is your client’s home page, particularly if you’re a web designer/developer. We’ve written a separate document to help you decide when to assign web activity to a project.

Tip: Some of our customers assign certain sites they access for multiple projects to an “Internal” client and projects. This helps them see how their billable time is being used, without automatically attaching it to a particular client or project. e.g. Youtube and Facebook go to “Internal Time wasting”; cnn.com, news.bbc.co.uk go to “Internal Research”. After adjusting your client project time blocks, you can delete the Internal blocks so you don’t accidentally submit them to your time sheets.
