If you like living on the cutting edge, you can opt in to using Clockk beta software.
Important note: By using beta software you risk losing tracking data or otherwise getting strange data in Clockk. There may be no announcement of feature updates or changes on the beta channel. Use at your own risk.
That said, we only deploy software to the beta channel if we feel that it’s ready for real user feedback. We have an alpha channel for the really bleeding-edge stuff. Using beta software is your opportunity to enjoy new features sometimes long before they’re available to regular users.
Clockk web app
You can use the beta at https://beta.clockk.com. It’s the same underlying data (API server) as app.clockk.com so all your data will be there, just with a slightly newer user interface. You’ll recognize Clockk by the blue icon.
You may have inferred that there’s an alpha.clockk.com as well. There is. Don’t use it. It may actually be behind production. We use it for testing really broken stuff.
Clockk Browser extension
At this point the beta browser extension is only available for Chrome. It is available on the Chrome Web Store. The Clockk beta extension has a blue icon, as opposed to the regular green icon.
You can run the beta extension alongside the production extension, but with the production extension turned off. It is wise to pin both extensions to your browser. This makes it easy to switch back and forth if you notice any troubles.
You should avoid enabling both extensions at the same time.
Clockk Desktop app
You can switch to the Clockk Desktop app beta. Open the Clockk Desktop App and click on Account. Then toggle the Use Clockk Beta option. You can click Check for Updates to see if there’s anything available on the beta channel. If not, you will continue to run the production version.
When you’re on the beta channel, the Clockk icon will turn blue.
